Who May Attend the State Convention? The DFL State Convention includes
1,200 delegates who have been elected at their county-unit conventions. In addition, there are more than 100 delegates who
are DFL elected officials and statewide party officers. Visitors may attend the State Convention as space permits.
Delegates will endorse for
the either Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer or Al Franken for the U.S. Senate seat.The business of this weekend convention in Rochester will include
the adoption of the DFL Action Agenda and amendment of the Ongoing Platform. There will be an election
of 16 State Directors to two year terms, 4 DNC Members to four year terms, 2 Presidential Electors and
2 Alternates.
There will also be an Election of National Delegates and Alternates.
The 2008 National Convention will be held August 25-28 in Denver, Colorado
The Minnesota
Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party elects delegates
to the Democratic National Convention at its congressional-district and state conventions.
